Meet the Instructor

Emily Bennett, M.Ed., CPRW, CMCS

I've been in higher education for 15+ years and founded my private practice over 12 years ago. I work full-time as a Manager of Experiential Learning at the University of Pittsburgh, in their School of Computing & Information. I'm a part-time instructor there, as well as a Career Coach for a global outplacement firm.

I was trained in career counseling at Carnegie Mellon University and am a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), Salary Negotiation Facilitator (AAUW), Strong Interest Inventory and MBTI practitioner. I'm one of NCDA's first members to become a Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS). I now give back to the profession reviewing CMCS credentialing applications and teaching this training program.

I currently reside in Pittsburgh, PA in a 120+ year old house in the historical South Side neighborhood. I enjoy traveling, thrifting, trivia, and mini-golf!

"Thank you Emily for being a friendly, flexible, and thoughtful instructor! Appreciated how you clearly knew the content really well and always brought in lots of specific and real examples to help illustrate the different concepts we were learning - it’s a class that is packed with great content so the specific examples helped me learn more effectively! Thank you also for bringing in lots of additional resources and content to help us learn the material better - not just for the exam but also for our own professional development."
